SALVATION

We don't deserve salvation. There's nothing we can do that will make us worthy.

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost." Titus 3:5.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

If any person will receive Jesus by grace through faith in His death and resurrection, not trusting in anything else for salvation, they will become a child of God and receive the gift of eternal life, which can never be revoked. Eternal security.

False Teachings About Baptism

If you've been baptized, it can't save you. Believing in Jesus Christ saves. Baptism is only an act of duty for those who have already found Christ.

Repentance

Repentance is God's plan of salvation.

To repent means to have a change of mind or spirit toward God and toward sin. It means to turn from your sins, with all your heart, and trust in Jesus to save you.

Instant Salvation

Everywhere you look through the New Testament you find that people were saved all at once without any process. The thief on the cross, who had been condemning Jesus, was saved immediately when he inquired of Jesus (Luke 23:42-43).

Salvation is instantaneous.

Change of Heart

Jesus was talking to Nicodemus when He said, "Ye must be born again," and in the same chapter He tells Nicodemus how to get the new birth.

The change in your heart is God's part. Your part is to believe in Him. Whatever else is necessary in your eternal salvation, the Lord attends to it when you trust and believe in Him.

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." Acts 16:30-31.

Dr. Roland Rasmussen of Faith Baptist Church preached that if you are truly saved, you will WANT to read the Word of God each day to draw strength and peace from the Lord. Regular worship is essential for developing and maintaining the heart of God.

Proof of salvation is OBEDIENCE.

If you decide not to be saved, then you have no one to blame but yourself.

“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28
