Listen
then to what the parable of the sower means: When anyone
hears the message about the kingdom and does not
understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what
was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the
path. The one who received the seed that fell on rocky
places is the man who hears the word and at once
receives it with joy. But since he has no root, he lasts
only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes
because of the word, he quickly falls away.

What is
highly valued among men is detestable in God’s sight.

but whoever does not believe stands condemned already

only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the
world, but men loved darkness instead of light because
their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the
light, and will not come into the light for fear that
his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the
truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen
plainly that what he has done has been through God.

He who
belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do
not hear is that you do not belong to God.

deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality,
impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities,

I have forewarned you, that those who practice such
things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Galatians

when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because
of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit
of glory and of God rests on you. If you suffer, it
should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind
of criminal, or even as a meddler. However, if you
suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God
that you bear that name.
1 Peter 4:12-16
Be
self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls
around like a roaring lion looking for someone to
devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because
you know that your brothers throughout the world are
undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
1 Peter 5:8-9
“I am
done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and
the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink
without cost from the spring of the water of life. He
who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his
God and he will be my son. But the cowardly, the
unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually
immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters
and all liars – their place will be in the fiery lake of
burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
